At this long-running rooftop bar, there's an emphasis on cocktails and comfort. The team lets the cocktails, snacks and view do the talking. And the retractable rooftop makes it a great all-weather option.

Just like in the fairy tale, you have to take a little journey to find Goldilocks. Through a Chinese restaurant on Swanston Street, up a lift, past an asylum-concept cocktail bar, up a few stairs, and you find yourself in one of Melbourne CBD’s great rooftop bars.

Goldilocks is more intimate and comfortable than most rooftop bars. Table service cocktails come from some of Melbourne’s most skilled bartenders. The space is transposable, too. It can be completely open for you to bask in the sun, or the roof can be closed so you can enjoy the outdoors among the heaters.

The cocktail list draws on flavours from around the world, which you’ll find changing often to suit the season. You can also accompany your cocktails with snacks as deep-fried chicken ribs and steamed Shanghai dumplings, alongside plant-based snacks like spinach and mushroom dumplings and spicy popcorn β€œchicken”.
