A cafe that’d feel as at home in Fitzroy as in Camberwell.

When My Other Brother popped up in Camberwell in 2013 it was an instant game changer for locals. It brought an inner-north attitude to the suburbs.

The fit-out is sizeable and maximises natural light. There’s ample outdoor seating and room for bigger groups. An open kitchen adds some culinary theatre to the space with the entire operation on show, so you can watch your eggs being poached while your coffee is extracted.

An electric-blue Synesso Hydra sits on top of a long, timber workbench. The baristas use a custom blend from Dimattina Coffee Roasters called Moody Sister and serve Small Batch for filter and espresso.

The menu is based on superfoods and sustainable produce. Each meal is beautifully presented, and the colourful smoothies are hard to pass up.

Sundays are by far the busiest thanks to the Camberwell Sunday Markets in the adjoining car park. By midday, the baristas have usually made well over 1000 coffees.
