History buffs will find plenty to marvel at with a visit to Australia’s largest military museum collection, just five kilometres from Wodonga. Spread over 5000 square metres, the museum has more than 150 military vehicles (plus artillery, medals, uniforms and notable objects) and covers Australia’s involvement in conflicts from the Boer War to today. Established in 1976, the building itself is a piece of history, being a World War II-era timber framed warehouse. The sheer scale is impressive in itself, so allow a good two hours.
