This heritage-listed patch of wild earth is teeming with trails for all abilities, leading to majestic waterfalls, breathtaking lookouts and ancient Aboriginal rock art. The central area of the park is the most popular location and easily accessed from Halls Gap. But start at the National Park and Cultural Centre in Brambuk, where you’ll learn about the park’s myriad sacred art sites. Wander through a stringy-bark forest to the Boroka lookout, where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping vistas across the Halls Gap Valley, Mount William Range and beyond. Seasoned walkers might look to Hollow Mountain, Mount Abrupt and Mount Sturgeon, but for a dazzling attraction suitable for anyone capable traversing steps, head for the iconic cascades at Mackenzie Falls, which thunder down from a dizzying height above.
