Some years ago, Lucas Cook and Deb Kantor decided to ditch meat and dairy, to gain a healthier lifestyle along with a new business, Mister Nice Guy BakeShop. Lucas has been baking since he was a kid and was constantly told by fans of his cupcakes, “You should do this for a living.” So he did. Showing Deb the ropes, the pair set off on a serious mission.

Regardless of whether you’re an animal lover or an affirmed carnivore, it’s hard to turn down baked goods prepared with thought and creativity. We’re talking cupcake flavours that vary from the norm, such as Neapolitan and Peppermint Pattie.

These treats are all compiled with moreish concoctions of kosher, soy-free, organic and fair trade ingredients. Cook and Kantor also try to stick close to home, using local ingredients where possible.

Alongside the main act (the cupcakes), Mister Nice Guy also offers gluten-free sourdough; “bronuts” (brioche donuts) flavoured with Snickers and more; and vegan chilli dogs and meatballs subs.
