What began as a personal health journey quickly turned into one of Melbourne’s most beloved all-vegan bakeries.

Baking with Purpose

A few years back, Lucas Cook and Deb Kantor gave up meat and dairy in search of a healthier lifestyle. Lucas had been baking since childhood, often encouraged by friends and family who insisted, “You should do this for a living.” With Deb by his side, he did just that. Together, they founded Mister Nice Guy BakeShop with a mission: to create irresistible plant-based treats that everyone — vegan or not — could enjoy.

Something for Everyone

The bake shop specialises in creative cupcake flavours like Neapolitan and Peppermint Pattie, all made using kosher, soy-free, organic, and fair trade ingredients. Whether you’re a sweet tooth or more into savoury, there’s something for you: gluten-free sourdough, “bronuts” (brioche-style donuts) in indulgent flavours like Snickers, and hearty vegan comfort food like chilli dogs and meatball subs.
