TL;DR

From Humble Beginnings to Vinyl Haven

Once tucked away in a dingy spot across from the Queen Vic Markets, Heartland Records originally focused on metal and classic rock. Since relocating to a bright, two-room space on Victoria Street, the store has expanded and flourished.

A Broader Soundscape

While metal remains at its coreβ€”celebrating every wild and heavy formβ€”Heartland has grown into one of Melbourne’s largest vinyl destinations. Its vast collection includes a huge β€œalt” section packed with both contemporary releases and essential classics, a dedicated punk shelf, ’60s and ’70s favourites for nostalgic listeners, and a selection of rare local pressings.

Diggers Welcome

The shop has also been steadily building its secondhand vinyl stock, often offering some of the best prices around. And for those who still prefer their music in digital format, there’s an extensive range of CDs available as well.
