Straight off the boat

Every day, both small and large fishing vessels dock at the two wharves of the Lakes Entrance Fishermans Co-operative retail outlet to unload their morning catch onto conveyor belts. From the viewing deck, visitors can watch the fish being weighed, sorted, scaled, filleted, and packed.

The freshest catch

Fishermen from Gippsland Lake bring in bream and school whiting daily, while deep-sea net trawlers deliver their Bass Strait haul two to three times a week. Depending on the season and day, the shop is stocked with a variety of seafood including tiger flathead, gummy shark, duck fish, ling, yellow-eye mullet, prawns, sardines, mussels, and whitebait. It’s a central spot for fresh Victorian seafoodβ€”perfect for picking up dinner.
