A quiet force in fine chocolate
Tucked away in the industrial backstreets of Cremorne, Hunted & Gathered has been quietly crafting some of Melbourne’s most refined chocolate, using cacao sourced from Peru, Ecuador, Belize, and the Dominican Republic.
Purity by design
Run by brothers Harry and Charlie Nissen, the brand is known for its minimalist approach. Their signature bars contain just three ingredients—cocoa nibs, cocoa butter, and coconut sugar—allowing for total control over sourcing and flavour. Each bar is made with at least 70% cacao, resulting in a pure, bold chocolate experience.
Trusted by Melbourne’s best
You’ll find Hunted & Gathered on the shelves at Blackhearts & Sparrows, Terra Madre, Happy Valley, and Meatsmith. Their chocolate has also featured in collaborations with the likes of Pidapipo and Baker D. Chirico, and is used in the kitchens of top Victorian restaurants including Rockpool Bar & Grill, Cumulus Inc., and Brae.
A factory you can see into
Their Cremorne space reflects the brand’s ethos: minimal, open, and focused on transparency. The shopfront and café are designed to give visitors a behind-the-scenes look, with clear views of the working factory—pallets, forklifts, and cacao bean sacks all in plain sight. Deliveries often roll in mid-service, adding to the authentic, hands-on feel.
Drinks, chocolate and a daily bake
Naturally, the menu is all about chocolate. Expect drinks like iced malted milk chocolate or cold brew made with freshly roasted cacao nibs. And if you're lucky, you’ll catch Harry baking something fresh in the kitchen daily.
