TL;DR

The perfect lunch combo

We could happily eat a pulled-pork panini from Footscray Milking Station every single day. Paired with a Padre espresso and a Jarritos mandarin soda, it’s hard to top this lunch combo.

A quiet corner with a loyal following

Tucked away on the quiet corner of Bunbury and Cowper Streets, this cosy cafΓ© has been buzzing since it opened in 2012. The menu leans into comforting breakfast fareβ€”think tapioca porridge with fresh fruit and mushrooms on toastβ€”both vegan-friendly, and overall thoughtfully inclusive of dietary needs.

Sunshine, seats and slow coffee

Inside, it’s a warm, inviting space. Bench seating soaks up the afternoon sun through the front window, while small tables and a large communal table give you plenty of options to relax (or read the paper). A few pavement tables round things out for those who prefer their coffee outdoors.

Worth the trip for the panini alone

Now, back to that panini: made with Brasserie bread, it’s stacked with tender slow-cooked pork, pickled cabbage, caramelised apple, and a mysteriously addictive mayo. Honestly, it’s worth the trip to Footscray no matter where you’re coming from.
