Melbourne fashion at its best, Alpha60, run by brother-sister duo, Alex and Georgie Cleary, showcases monochrome basics, classic styles and cuts.

If Jean-Luc Godard and his various contemporary pop icons are your thing, you’d best get down to Alpha60 (formerly Alphaville – taken from Godard’s film of the same name).

Great basics and special pieces have taken the brother-sister duo from having a small local label to being the next big thing in Australia; with several stores scattered throughout the country.

There’s one catch: you better like black. The specialty of the house is its almost exclusive use of the monochromatic palette.

Made for men, women and both, the label is not without a sense of humour; the Flinders Lane store, for instance, has a giant crucifix lying on its side as a (not so) quiet nod to their St Paul’s Cathedral location.
