From fish and chips to toasties and charm

This Brunswick Street spot was once home to a fish-and-chip shop. Now, it’s Aphro & Wolfe—a cosy cafe known for its toasties and coffee.

A warm, lo-fi fitout

With rich plywood interiors and antique touches sourced from across Melbourne, it channels the warm, lo-fi vibe of classic local cafes.

Toasties take centre stage

The toasties are generously sized. Options include the Latina, made with six-hour slow-cooked pulled pork; a gooey three-cheese; and a Greek-inspired spanakopita-style version. The standout, though, is Aphro’s take on the classic Reuben.

More than just sandwiches

The menu also features salads, chips, muesli, a variety of sweets, and Padre coffee.
