A Lush Café-Bar Escape Inside Chadstone

Housed in a bright, airy space designed by Mim Design, AU79 Chadstone blends café comfort with bar-side buzz — a stylish offshoot of its original Abbotsford location. What started in an old motor garage has evolved into a multi-purpose venue offering Asian-inspired dishes, buttery pastries, house-roasted coffee, and a well-stocked bar, all within a glass-roofed oasis inside Australia’s biggest shopping centre.

Brunch and Coffee, Reimagined

In the café section, brunch is both familiar and inventive. The Mediterranean-style avo toast comes with pumpkin purée, sundried tomatoes, and a kick of chilli, while the soba noodle salad balances tofu, edamame, bok choy and lotus root chips for something lighter. The confit duck leg salad is a standout, layered with caramelised onion, pickled beetroot, radicchio and garlic croutons. Pastries and cakes are displayed in a brass-trimmed cabinet for a quick takeaway option.

AU79’s house-roasted coffee—produced in Abbotsford—anchors the drinks menu, while the bar next door serves cocktails, craft beers, and wines for those sticking around a little longer.

Design That Invites You to Stay

The interior feels more greenhouse sanctuary than mall café. Terrazzo floors, marble counters, white arches and abundant greenery create a calm, welcoming atmosphere — a sharp contrast to the bustle just outside. Whether you’re fuelling up mid-shop or winding down with a drink, AU79 offers a stylish, relaxing break in the heart of Chadstone.
