TL;DR

Surf, Sand and Suds

Bells Beach is famed worldwide as one of the most iconic surf spotsβ€”but it’s also gaining recognition as a craft beer hub, thanks to Bells Beach Brewing.

From Engineering to Brewing

Co-founders and longtime friends Jonothan Moscrop and Adam Smith, former automotive engineers, brought their technical expertise to the art of brewing, teaming up with local photographer Jeff Crow.
Together, they crafted their first brew, the Southside Saison, back in 2015.

A Hidden Gem in Torquay

Their Torquay taproom opened three years later in the industrial Baines Crescent precinct, just behind Rip Curl HQ.
Like a hidden city laneway bar, it can be tricky to findβ€”but the effort is more than worth it.
Inside, gleaming, oversized brewing equipment towers above the tasting bar, surrounded by overhead pipes and moody festoon lighting.

Bold Brews on Tap

Come thirstyβ€”there’s plenty on tap to enjoy.
The core lineup features approachable yet flavourful brews like The Hells Bells XPA, Endless Summer Lager, Bells Session Ale, and Addis Pale.
For something bolder, try Posso’s IPA or the Bird Rock Brown coffee ale.
The Southside Saison remains a heartfelt favourite.
Small-batch releases have included a west coast-style wet-hopped IPA and a red ale aged in pinot noir barrels.

Food, Footy and Laid-Back Vibes

A food truck is a permanent fixture outside, drawing beer fans to the high-tops beneath bright blue umbrellas.
Inside, a big screen keeps footy fans entertained, making it the perfect spot to settle in for a session.
