TL;DR

Fitzroy’s Favourite Spot for Sips, Snacks and Seriously Good Vibes

27 Taps, Minimal Waste, Maximum Fun

There’s no drinks menu quite like Bonny’s. Of the 27 taps, only a dozen are reserved for beer. The rest flow with kegged cocktails, natural wines, and cold brew β€” all delivered with an emphasis on sustainability and flavour.

And these aren’t your average drinks. The cocktail list offers fun, local twists on classics. Try the Japanese Slipper made with Ant Gin. Enjoy the bold Davidson Plum Rainforest Spritz. Don’t miss the housemade chilli margarita, which has the perfect kick. Behind the bar, leftover beer gets turned into syrups and reductions, giving second life to whatever didn’t make it into the pint glass.

Casual Dining by One of Melbourne’s Best Chefs

Bonny’s kitchen uses a rotating chef residency model. However, its long-term partnership with James Cornwall (ex-Cumulus Inc, Iki Jime, J Sheekey) is one to keep.

Cornwall’s menu highlights bold land-and-sea flavors. You can expect ethically sourced seafood, wild game, and seasonal veggies. Enjoy a variety of bar snacks and sharing plates. Highlights include:

  • Sher Wagyu with Diane sauce, fries and salad (Wednesdays and Sundays)

  • Oysters with yuzu jalapeΓ±o vinaigrette

  • Rosemary focaccia, served thick and golden

  • Baked three-cheese gnocchi

  • Grilled barramundi or Wagyu cheeseburgers for those not feeling the steak

Weekly Specials That Actually Deliver

Bonny’s weekly lineup has something for everyoneβ€”and enough incentive to become a regular.

Margarita Mondays

$15 margaritas (including a rotating spicy house chilli version) and $10 shots from 4pm. Roll a six on the dice? Your dinner’s free.

Country Tunes Tuesdays

Boot-scootin’ DJs on rotation with $9 lager schooners, $10 picklebacks, and $22 burger and chips specials.

Wagyu Wednesdays & Sundays

$30 Wagyu with fries and salad. Or opt for grilled barramundi, burgers or veg options like gnocchi. A Fitzroy favourite for a reason.

Thirsty Thursdays

Enjoy $15 cocktails with a local twist. Try their wattleseed espresso martinis, and lemon myrtle cosmos. Also, dance to funk, soul, and disco DJs until late!

Happy Hour & Bottomless Weekends

Happy Hour

  • Thursday & Friday: 4–6pm

  • Saturday: 3–6pm

Specials include:

  • $3 oysters with yuzu & jalapeΓ±o

  • $8 craft lager

  • $10 Davidson Plum Spritz

  • $15 Wagyu cheeseburgers

  • $9 French fries

Bottomless Booze (Sat–Sun, 1–3pm): $49pp for 90 minutes of Mimosas or Bloody Marys. The full food menu’s available so you can stay long after the bubbles run dry.

Indoor Comfort Meets Alfresco Cool

The main bar is a study in warm minimalism: reclaimed timber, soft light, and lush greenery. Sit at the bar, perch in the window, or cosy up on the couches. Out back, Bonny’s beer garden is enclosed, heated, and dog-friendly, making it a dream no matter the season.

The Bar That’s Doing It Differently

Bonny doesn’t shout for attention, but it has everything a neighborhood classic needs: great drinks, amazing food, and a truly welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're catching up over cocktails, digging into Wagyu steak, or rolling the dice on a Monday night, it always hits the right note.
