Cannoli, sicilian-style
Italian-born cheesemaker Giorgio Linguanti has been handcrafting mozzarella, burrata, ricotta and more since launching Thatโs Amore Cheese in Thomastown back in 2008. But in 2019, he turned his attention to something a little sweeterโwith the opening of Cannoleria by Thatโs Amore, a permanent shop dedicated entirely to Sicilyโs most beloved dessert.
Crisp shells, creamy fillings
Before this spot opened, locals had to track down Linguantiโs cannoli at Thomastown or the occasional pop-up. But now, thanks to a collaboration with chef Dario Di Clerico, the golden, crispy pastry tubes have a home of their own. The compact shop is splashed in Thatโs Amoreโs signature lemon yellow, deep-sea blue, and white. An L-shaped counter dominates the space: one side stacked with neat towers of cannoli in a glass cabinet, the other housing just a till. A Scrabble-style board above lists the rotating flavours.
