A Dive Bar Drenched in Horror Nostalgia
Every night feels like Halloween at Creature Bar, a quirky dive spot crammed with horror movie memorabilia. Youβll sip drinks under the watchful eyes of Frankensteinβs monster and Mia Wallace, whose portraits loom above the neon-lit bar.
Soundtrack and Sip-Worthy Cocktails
A record player spins everything from Talking Heads to Donny BenΓ©t, setting the tone for a night of drinks and nostalgia. The cocktail menu is packed with clever, nerdy references β highlights include the Anaconda (a zesty Pisco Sour) and the Chupacabra (a fiery riff on the classic Spicy Margarita).
Local Brews and Laidback Options
But beer takes centre stage here, with a rotating selection of taps pouring hyperlocal brews from spots like Co-Conspirators in Brunswick, Molly Rose and The Mill in Collingwood, and 2 Brothers in Moorabbin. There are also non-alcoholic options, Aussie wines, whisky, and rum to round out the list.
Come Hungry, Stay Weird
Hungry? Youβre welcome to bring in food from nearby Brunswick East eateries. Once youβve got your drink, you can post up at the front bar, head upstairs, or settle into the dog-friendly courtyard out back.
Not Just a Bar β A Nerdβs Playground
Creature Bar goes beyond your standard watering hole β itβs also packed with entertainment, including board games like Jenga and Scattergories, plus a Nintendo GameCube hooked up to a projector for rounds of Mario Kart.
Made by Music Lovers, for Everyone
Behind the concept are Nick Caddaye, Leah Collins, Rebecca Mitchell, and Daniel Sheppard β four mates from Melbourneβs live music scene (Caddaye and Collins also co-founded Mr McClellandβs Finishing School) whoβve created what they proudly call a βdive bar for nerds.β
