TL;DR
From Factory to Fixture Espresso Alleyβs interior gives no hint of its past as a glove factory β it feels like itβs been a neighborhood fixture for years.
Original exposed brick walls blend seamlessly with tables crafted from recycled timber sourced from the Northcote bowling alley, retro β50s Sebel chairs, and steelwork by local craftsman Steve Edwards.

A Legacy Maintained
Founded by Vince Mazzone (formerly of Tre Bichierri) in late 2011, the cafΓ© was later sold to George Nakhoul, who has kept much of its original charm intact. The space maintains a calm, relaxed vibe, with a menu featuring subtle Middle Eastern influences.
Middle Eastern-Inspired Comforts
Baked eggs come with a kick of harissa and a sprinkle of feta, while sumac yogurt and zaβatar add a deeper earthiness to mushrooms and scrambled eggs. Other offerings include flaky croissants, smoked salmon bagels, and a coconut, cacao, and almond granola.
Weekend Rituals and Open-Kitchen Views
On weekends, locals often gather outside in the alfresco seating area with their dogs, savoring Melba organic coffee. You can soak up the sun alongside them or grab a spot at the counter inside to watch your breakfast being prepared in the open kitchen.
