Quality food and coffee in Melbourne’s southeastern suburbs.

Notting Hill isn’t the first place you would expect the Tommy Collins Group (of The Little Ox and Hawk & Hunter) to open their third cafe, but someone has to feed the hungry workers.

In keeping with their other venues, Little Collins offers seasonal fare with daily specials, only this time catering to business types with a no-fuss menu.

Known for their perfectly poached eggs, smashed avocado on toast and sweet loaf with cinnamon mascarpone, Little Collins brings to Notting Hill some of the best breakfast items from its sibling cafes.

For lunch, there is plenty of choice by way of salads, sandwiches and soups. The menu is small, but with such items as a brown rice salad, coriander and chilli falafel wraps and sticky pork belly sandwiches, less is more.

Designed by HASSELL architects, the space is a warm mix of concrete, exposed aggregate and retired Oregon timbers, where workers can escape the office or get a sandwich and coffee to go.

Just four minutes from Monash University, Little Collins is just the cafe the area needs – just don’t blame us when you skip that lunchtime lecture.
