A Spanish tapas bar. A Mexican taqueria. A Chilean picada. This Latin American oasis in the suburbs is a mash-up of all three. Come for classic pintxos and raciones, backed up by a thoughtful drinks list heavy on sour cocktails.

All moody lighting and bar-style seating, Little Drop of Poison is designed with intimate conversations in mind. And with a rotating, seasonal menu and a drinks list to suit, there’s always plenty to talk about at this cool suburban tapas bar.

Hailing from Chile, owner Geo Tapia is passionate about showcasing a range of traditional Spanish and Latin American dishes which, he says, often gets him into trouble from locals when trying to change up the menu.

That said, staples include hot croquetas, an exemplary Basque gilda and Chilean empanadas – perhaps stuffed with cheese and jalapenos, and wrapped in pastry from a recipe handed down by Tapia’s mother. Little Drop also leans into Mexican flavours on taco Tuesday, and spices up the week with a regular paella night.

To complement the line-up of pintxos and raciones, Tapia has crafted a tight, ever-changing drinks list that always includes at least one tempranillo and one cava. But if you’re chasing a cocktail – go for the pisco sour. This place nails it every time.
