Inspired by sandwich shops in New York’s East Village, Luncheonette has all the ingredients of a great local cafe – friendly service, Coffee Supreme brew and a sunlit window seat that is fodder for many a deskbound daydream.

Good ingredients extend to the menu with dishes such as baked eggs with asparagus, tomato and gruyère, waffles with osewater-rhubarb, citrus creme fraiche, toasted hazelnuts and organic maple syrup or the homemade granola featuring locally and Queen Victoria Market sourced ingredients. Luncheonette also offers simple lunch baguettes that are anything but, with an amazing BLT, reuben, sopressa or smashed chickpea salad.

The white-washed walls, vintage diner relics and hand-painted signs complete the comfortable, cute-not-kitsch vibe.
