This west-side bar champions art and music, in the former home of Baby Snakes. The vibey spot – run by three friends – has DJs on rotation, fun cocktails and a party-ready dancefloor.

Misfits is a neighbourhood bar that champions local art and music. It’s by a trio of mates, Jacob Bell (Ferdydurke, Whitehart), Amber Hahipene (Section 8, Comet Beverages), and Jerry Poon (The Operatives).

The drinks menu celebrates the team’s love of local, featuring Victorian drops such as Marionette liqueur, Deeds Brewing, and 3 Ravens. Bell, the full-time bar manager, leads the cocktail list, delivering a homemade twist on liquor classics. Think Cherry ripe Boulevardier, infused with coconut fat washed Starward whiskey and Pandan Mai Tai with Havana rum and pandan infused orgeat syrup.

The venue was previously home to Baby Snakes, and its warm sandy tones, exposed brick, wooden floors and warehouse windows provide a cosy and inviting atmosphere for local drinks. A large mural by Melbourne artist Drez vibrantly covers the outdoor courtyard walls, while inside a raised stage, and a wooden DJ booth is elevated by ambience lighting and two large tapestries by Singaporean artist Reza Hasni.
