A cafe backed by pub, club and fine-dining pedigree.

This neighbourhood favourite is named after a song by The Killers. It’s appropriate. Step into Neon Tiger and you’ll hear the purr of the coffee machine right up until 4pm. Overhead you’ll see white corrugated clouds, an inviting part of the design by Sibling Architecture.

It’s this welcome that’s most important to owners Paul Lew, George Redwan and Tait Crespin, whose former posts include The Point, Circa and Middle Park Hotel.

The all-day breakfast features shakshouka (eggs poached in a spicy tomato sauce) and breakfast trifle. Lunch includes slow-cooked lamb shoulder and crispy chicken san choy bau with bean-shoot salad. For little humans, there’s French toast and a mini cheeseburger. Match your afternoon coffee with a giant chocolate whoopie cookie from Prahran’s Alpen Delicious – they’re filled with peanut butter and strawberry.

The Boxer blend by Coffee Supreme is used for milk coffees and a new single-origin roast is rotated weekly. There’s also a range of health drinks such as the Mayan smoothie with raw cacao and the Matcha Maiden latte.
