Bright, multi-coloured tiles, 1920s-styled window displays and a chic mannequin called Suzy on the roof. Once More With Feeling’s shopfront will catch your eye.

Step inside and the retro flair continues. Since 2014 it has been stocking clothing, accessories, footwear and bric-a-brac from different eras, from the ’20s through to the ’90s. Vintage-inspired pieces by labels such as Retrospec’d, Erstwilder, Jubly-Umph and Wendy & Holly are also on the racks and shelves.

With her keen eye for fashion shop owner Jo-Anne Armstrong spends her days tracking down pieces from markets, online and local wardrobes. And she’s very fussy about things being in good condition. Armstrong also focuses on providing a range of sizes.

A highlight of the store is the changing room. A mix of leopard-print and floral wallpaper lines the walls. An antique chair and dresser topped with fashion books decorates the space. A retro, Hollywood-style mirror framed by light bulbs features, too.

Once More With Feeling offers hiring services for costume parties, theatre, film and photo shoots.
