A shared dream takes shape
Jewellery and accessories designer Emily Green once had a studio in Brunswick, but in 2016, she decided it was time to move closer to home in Reservoir. Around the same time, she and her stylist friend Beckie Littler started chatting about the idea of creating a shared spaceβa place that could be both a shopfront and a working studio. By May 2018, that idea became a reality with the opening of Pinkyβs.
Warm, colourful and kid-friendly
From the moment you walk in, Pinkyβs feels warm, welcoming, and refreshingly down-to-earth. Itβs a space that genuinely embraces familiesβthereβs plenty of room to browse with a pram around the central table, a dedicated kids' corner filled with cushions, toys, and books, and a soft, ice-cream-inspired colour palette that adds to the cheerful vibe. One wall is brought to life by a vibrant floral mural from textile and surface designer Cassie Byrnes, and a glowing neon "P" hangs above the childrenβs nook.
Handmade pieces and local favourites
Emilyβs signature jewellery designsβhandcrafted with her team in the on-site studioβare featured throughout the shop. But the shelves are also filled with a thoughtful mix of pieces from local makers and brands they love: ceramics, candles, soaps, accessories, books, and homewares from names like Leah Jackson, Shuh, Leif, The Souvenir Society, Milk and Masuki, Lemon Ceramics, Totes Good, Soap Club, and Halcyon Nights. Thereβs a whole shelf of beanies, and another stacked with bright, patterned cushions. Itβs a playful mix of βtreat yourselfβ items and fun, affordable gift ideas, catering to a wide range of budgets.
More than a shopfront
Beyond the shop itself, Emily and Beckie built three additional studio spaces on the property, now home to local creatives working across painting, photography, graphic design, and more. Thereβs also a flexible area used for workshops and photo shoots, making Pinkyβs not just a store, but a little creative community hub.
