Rocket Wine: Fairfield’s Laid-Back Local for Lovers of a Good Drop

Equal parts bottle shop and bar, Rocket Wine has quickly become Fairfield’s go-to for relaxed drinks and great conversation since opening in 2022. Whether you're grabbing a bottle on the run or settling in for a few wines with friends, this neighbourhood spot balances warmth, style, and substance.

600 Bottles, 30 by the Glassβ€”and Plenty to Discover

At the heart of Rocket Wine is its floor-to-ceiling bottle wall, stocked with over 600 wines, 150+ spirits (whisky and gin get special attention), and 80 craft beers. Prefer to sip in? A rotating list of 30 wines by the glass is made possible by a Coravin system that keeps things fresh, from Dal Zotto prosecco to wild-ferment WA naturals and elegant Euro imports. And it’s not just wineβ€”cocktail lovers can enjoy a Bloody Shiraz Spritz, Pisco Sour, or even a whisky or agave tasting flight. There’s also beer on tap and a thoughtful line-up of non-alcoholic options.

Sip, Stay, or Take It Away

Snacks are simple but smart: think local cheeses from Maffra, Milawa and Meredith Dairy, ready to pair with a bottle of your choice. If you're after something more substantial, you’re encouraged to BYO food from Fairfield’s neighbouring eateries.

Friendly Faces, Glowing Fit-Out

The spaceβ€”dreamed up by Jack Chin, Amy Poh (Wines on Poath) and venue manager Hamish Heskethβ€”features recycled timber tables, olive-green chairs, and a glowing timber-clad bar. With seating for 60 and hospitality that hums well into the night, Rocket Wine is exactly the kind of low-key local every suburb wishes it had.
