A Love Letter to Piemonte

Anthony Scutella and Alison Foley’s passion for Italian food and wine shines through at their beloved Carlton restaurant on Nicholson Street.
Their journey began during travels through Italy’s Piemonte region, where they fell in love with the local cuisine and wine. With the help of chef Salvatore Caccioppoli, they’ve brought the essence of Piemonte to Melbourne’s dining scene.

A Menu Rooted in Tradition

Rich Italian flavours run through a menu that includes slow-cooked pork belly with cannellini bean ragu, kid goat baked with freshly grated pecorino, and a classic caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella.
Standouts include the spatchcock stuffed with sourdough, herbs and taleggio on a bed of braised green lentils, and of course, the always-excellent house-made pastas.

Wines from Piemonte and Beyond

The drinks list is equally impressive, with Piemonte’s Barbaresco and Barolo proudly featured. You’ll also find other regional Italian wines alongside Australian favourites, plus a thoughtful selection of local and international beers. For something a little different, try the Bellini – made with in-house peach purΓ©e and prosecco.

Fine Dining with a Welcoming Feel

Despite the crisp white tablecloths and sleek interior, Scopri remains warm and inviting – perfect for a date night or a celebratory meal.
