There’s a retro caravan peddling drinks in the beer garden.

Jennifer Aperloo, her brother Jordan and her daughters Rayna and Ellesha took over a decades-old pizzeria and turned into The Bayside Lady in February 2015.

The family continue to play with dough, but with their own slant. By day, the cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and snacks in between. The kitchen team makes all of its cakes, desserts and breads from scratch, and sources local chutneys and jams. At night the space transitions to a dine-in and takeaway pizzeria.

Inside there’s mismatched vintage furniture and a blue, orange and white colour scheme. Outside, a vibrant beer garden with a brightly hued mural and retro caravan serving drinks. It’s perfect for a beer or wine and some lunch. Over summer, the kitchen team grows produce out here, so you can enjoy a pizza and a spritzer among the tomato vines.

The cafe also sporadically hosts doughnut days, which usually occur alongside special celebrations such as Mother’s Day or public holidays. These moreish, pillowy numbers are covered in sugar and contain a molten centre of lemon curd, peach jam or Nutella. They fly out the door, so get in quick.
