TL;DR

A Revived Local Legend

The Bridge Hotel is a Castlemaine mainstay with a strong live music line-up and a pub menu that wouldn’t be out of place in Collingwood. Owners Mace Williams and Catherine Fletcher (formerly of The Grace Darling and Bali’s Jealous Lovers) took over in 2015, preserving the venue’s charm while giving it a fresh edge.

Charming Corners and DIY Appeal

Inside, it’s all cosy corners and moody lighting, with dining rooms tucked behind the bar. The beer garden out back is full of DIY charm β€” think pallet furniture, planter boxes, a fire pit and a fireplace near the pool table. Out front, the sunny seating’s perfect for beers and people-watching.

Craft Brews and Pub Favourites

You’ll find Coopers alongside craftier brews like Newstead IPA, Harcourt’s Ginger Kid, and Boomtown’s No.3 Red. The food covers both comforting pub classics and lighter, veg-friendly dishes β€” from sticky ham hock with pickles to a cheese kranksy hot dog and hearty chook, leek and corn pie.

A Stage for Everyone

The Bridge has hosted names like Kid Congo, Oh Mercy and Bob Evans, while Wednesday nights are reserved for open mic regulars.

A close-up of St Burgs’ iconic D Gorengβ€”a loaded bowl of instant Indomie noodles topped with smashed beef patties and molten American cheese. Served in a brightly branded St Burgs and Indomie collab container, this indulgent dish is one of Melbourne’s most outrageous limited-edition burger mashups, blending Filipino and Aussie comfort food with street-style energy.
