Breathing culinary life into the business end of Flinders Lane.

Tapping into the area’s history of warehousing grain and stock, The Grain Store values fresh produce.

Head chef Ingo Meissner (of St ALi and Fitzrovia) draws on his German heritage, traditional French and Mediterranean training and various travels to conjure what he simply calls “honest cooking”.

Drawing on refined country cooking steeped in both traditional European and contemporary Australian influences, he uses ingredients such as quinoa, goji berries and farro grains to create a unique collection of sweet breakfast options and warm, cosy lunch selections.

Further articulating their homely menu is the clean design of the cafe. With painted timber, marble and fresh flowers, it has the softness and liveliness of a rustic country parlour.

As well as serving up the best in seasonal food, The Grain Store hopes to do its part for the environment in reducing the food miles of their ingredients by teaming up with CERES Fair Food Organic Food Delivery Service as their only food host in the CBD.

Getting down to business, The Grain Store has you covered for seasonal culinary creations for when you find yourself on the west side of the CBD.
