Fitzroy’s oldest pub is for the old guard and the new. You’ll find footy fans gathered around the TVs on game days. When the vibe’s right, it’s like you’ve got 100 mates, 16 beer taps and better-than-usual food in your lounge room.

Fitzroy’s oldest and best-loved pub reopened after renovations in early 2016.

It’s bigger and shinier than it once was, but there are echoes of the pub of old in the exposed-brick walls, central bar, AFL memorabilia and TVs playing sports. Polished concrete has replaced the carpet, but there’s still Carlton Draught and Coopers Pale on tap – plus a range of other beers, on tap and by the bottle or can.

Food wise, it’s classic pub fare with a few twists. Snacks range from bar nuts or fries, to ham-hock croquettes. Smaller plates include mussels in white wine, sausage rolls or calamari. There’s a burger, a parma and a pasta dish under mains, then there’s a few sides, a few desserts and some options for kids.

If you want wine, there’s a short by-the-glass list. If you’d prefer a bottle, head upstairs to Harry & Frankie Fitzroy and you can choose something to drink downstairs in the pub. In the upstairs area, there’s also a range of function rooms available for hire.
