The Torquay Farmers Market has been operating since 2009 under the guardianship of market operator David Bell (who you’ll find cruising the stalls wearing a hat that looks like a chook). It runs 52 weeks of the year, rain, hail or shine, and is purely a food and food-related market.
About 30 stallholders set up here under distinctive blue and white marquees in the council car park. Head straight for a crepe and a coffee for your morning pick-me-up before browsing the stalls for eggs, jam, honey, meat, fruit and vegetables, smoked fish, nuts and much more. The upcoming week’s stallholder list is published on the market’s Facebook and Instagram pages each Thursday.
